=== Services === The PLA maintains four services (Chinese: 军种; pinyin: jūnzhǒng): the Ground Force, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Rocket Force. Following the 200,000 and 300,000 personnel reduction announced in 2003 and 2005 respectively, the total strength of the PLA has been reduced from 2.5 million to around 2 million. The reductions came mainly from non-combat ground forces, which would allow more funds to be diverted to naval, air, and strategic missile forces. Studies suggest that light pollution desynchronizes spawning in some coral species. In areas such as the Red Sea, as many as 10 out of 50 species may be showing spawning asynchrony, compared to 30 years ago. The establishment of new corals in the area has decreased and in some cases ceased. The area was previously considered a refuge for corals because mass bleaching events due to climate change had not been observed there. === Source SDK === Source SDK is the software development kit for the Source engine, and contains many of the tools used by Valve to develop assets for their games. It comes with several command-line programs designed for special functions within the asset pipeline, as well as a few GUI-based programs designed for handling more complex functions. Source SDK was launched as a free standalone toolset through Steam, and required a Source game to be purchased on the same account. Since the release of Left 4 Dead in late 2008, Valve began releasing "Authoring Tools" for individual games, which constitute the same programs adapted for each game's engine build. After Team Fortress 2 became free-to-play, Source SDK was effectively made open to all Steam users. When some Source games were updated to Source 2013, the older Source SDKs were phased out. The three applications mentioned below are now included in the install of each game. There are three applications packaged in the Source SDK: Hammer Editor, Model Viewer, and Face Poser. The Model Viewer is a program that allows users to view models and can be used for a variety of different purposes, including development. Developers may use the program to view models and their corresponding animations, attachment points, bones, and so on. Face Poser is the tool used to access facial animations and choreography systems. This tool allows one to edit facial expressions, gestures and movements for characters, lip sync speech, and sequence expressions and other acting cues and preview what the scene will look like in the game engine.
==== Illicit drugs ==== The sources and production mechanisms of illegal drugs has been another area that has seen successful application of hydrogen isotope characterization. Usually, as with other applications of stable isotope techniques, results are best when data for multiple stable isotopes are compared with one another. δ2H, δ13C and δ15N have been used together to analyze tablets of MDA and MDMA and has successfully identified differences which could be used to differentiate between different sources or production mechanisms. The same combination of stable isotopes with the addition of δ18O was applied to heroin and associated packaging and could successfully distinguish between different samples. Analysis using deuterium NMR was also able to shed light on the origin and processing of both cocaine and heroin. In the case of heroin this site-specific natural isotopic fraction measured by deuterium NMR (SNIF-NMR) method could be used for determining the geographic origin of the molecule by analyzing so-called natural sites (which were present in the morphine from which heroin is made), as well as gaining information on the synthesis process by analyzing the artificial sites (added during drug processing).

== Use in antibody-drug conjugates == A new antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology based on α-amanitin has shown activity in therapy-resistant tumor cells, e.g. cells expressing multi-drug resistant transporters, tumor-initiating cells and non-dividing cells at picomolar concentrations. The unique mode of action of α-amanitin seems to make the amanitin-based ADCs a suitable toxic payload. This toxin has a water-soluble structure, resulting in ADCs with low tendency for aggregation. Significant clinical advances occurred in 2025 and 2026 with Heidelberg Pharma’s lead candidate HDP-101 (pamlectabart tismanitin), a BCMA-targeted amanitin-based antibody-drug conjugate (ATAC) for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. In the ongoing Phase I/IIa trial (NCT04879043), dose escalation proceeded safely up to 218 µg/kg without reaching a maximum tolerated dose, and the recommended Phase IIa dose was selected in April 2026. The program received FDA Fast Track designation in October 2025. In the higher-dose cohorts (90–140 µg/kg), overall response rates reached 38–57 %, with several heavily pretreated patients, including those who had failed prior BCMA-directed therapies, achieving stringent complete remissions lasting more than one year. The safety profile remained favorable, with mostly mild-to-moderate and manageable adverse events and no clinically relevant hepatotoxicity, ocular toxicity, or renal impairment.
